First pass, going back in to re-saturate and tighten everything up in May when I come back to Maryland.

White people: bastardizing and appropriating the cultures of people of color like it’s their fucking job.

White People: You’re not fooling anybody. We know you’re white.

You know how I usually can tell if a blog owner is white? They don’t mention race in their description of themselves. They don’t think to, or they think it’s tasteless, bringing attention to their privilege. Guess what; you’re exercising your privilege by ignoring it. I know, I know, you think you’re being awesome by not mentioning it, but you are mentioning it. You’re not thinking about your race and your privilege. You’re exercising the privilege of being the default, and you’re being a jackass.

White whine & you

There’s nothing I hate more than trying to discuss race with a mixed group and having white people start whining about how hard it is to recognize their own privilege or some other shit about their experiences with being white. Do you really think a bunch of poc’s got together in a room to talk about your whiteness, cuz for real tho, that’s pretty much every space we’re in anyway and I don’t think it’s too much to ask for an hour absent of white whine.

Bobby Hill Thug Life. Done by Cameron at Studio 13 in Johnson City, TN. This is my fourth tattoo and I absolutely love it. I was always an awkward kid and have always identified with Bobby. This is my one dumbass/hilarious homage to him and all the awkward awesome individuals that inhabit this planet.

At least you branded yourself so you’ll be easily identified when you’re hunted down for the revolution.

3/9/12’s list of things I hate:

  • People who describe themselves as “30 something.”
  • Queer spaces that don’t take a stance on race because they don’t think it’s a queer issue.
  • Cold french fries.
  • White people who think their opinion on race is important.
  • Not realizing the roll of toilet paper is finished until I’ve already started pissing/shitting and then having to awkwardly waddle to the cabinet to get more, hoping I’m not leaving a trail of shit nuggets in my wake.

This was my second tattoo. It’s a Polynesian design by the lovely Chriss Higgins from Into you tattoo london. I this was influenced from my family’s love of Polynesia and all the art work my mother kept from her four year stay there before I was born.

Terrible.

This is my third tattoo. It’s a Japanese good luck cat. I got this because I LOVE Japanese culture. I plan on getting more added to make it a sleeve at a later date. I also added in the crescent moon to represent my kitten, Luna. It’s probably my favorite tattoo so far. It was done by my good friend Eddie Stewart at Elite Tattoo in Williamston, NC. Thanks again, Eddie!

I hate you.

Anonymous asked: As a white feminist and activist, I understand that a lot of the things I want to be involved in can be very euro and ciscentric. In the past, my ignorance only led me to be angered by manarchists, but that is obviously just one small part of a culture of oppression, much of which I will never have to deal with or notice. My question is this, is it possible for me to be active in class issues and feminism when so many of these issues are obviously, at their core, issues of white oppression?

Yes, it’s completely possible for you to be active in the struggle against oppression, even though in many cases, whether you like it or not, you are the oppressor. I think it’s important to remember, no matter your intentions, you can’t escape the fact that because of your privileges you will never fully understand oppressions that you do not suffer from. This means that, even(maybe especially) when you think you’re being the best ally ever, you could quite possibly be perpetuating oppression.

So, to answer your question, if you want to be active in struggles against oppression, you have to learn to shut the fuck up and let those who actually experience the oppression talk. You have to volunteer, not as a leader or a spokesman, but as a foot soldier. Take direction. Don’t argue. And for fuck’s sake, don’t make everything about your struggle with your own oppressions or privileges. Don’t expect gratitude or kindness or patience, because sometimes we don’t have it to give. If you need a pat on the back, you should probably go somewhere else.

Anonymous asked: what if gender essentialism is right though and we should do whatever we want but still identify as whatever genitals we have and that way we will be changing ideas of what men and women are. Serious question not trolling

What the fuck are you even saying? There are plenty of people redefining gender like, all the time. Also, you don’t know what gender essentialism is.
